Taylor Swift's a Little Bit Excited About The Change of Seasons

ABC/ Lorenzo BevilaquaTaylor Swift recently got a new Tumblr account, and after asking her fans to help her figure out how to use it, she's been going full-on with her postings.  Her latest is an ode to the fact that summer is over and fall is upon us.  It turns out that Taylor really, really likes fall.  Maybe a little bit too much."There’s nothing like just apple picking in the Fall, the first cold New York weather hitting you, the fashion sense steaming up, and the fresh apple cider and donuts," she wrote in her posting. "I LOVE THE FALL."Then, in an epic sentence, she gushes:"And hats and scarves and knee socks and wearing tights for the first time in months and when the mornings are all chilly and you can see your breath and draw little pictures on foggy windows and plaid stuff and ANKLE BOOTS and not caring when people make fun of pumpkin flavored stuff cause you LOVE IT and are happy it’s all the rage and people who dress their dogs in costumes on Halloween and fires in fireplaces and maroon/hunter green/mustard yellow color combos and baking your first fall batch of cookies but you put too much cinnamon in it because you’re TOO EXCITED BECAUSE IT’S FALL."Taylor, People magazine's Best Dressed woman of 2014, showed off her fall style this week by hitting the town in knee socks, a plaid skirt, a hunter green bag and her favorite accessory: her new cat, Olivia Benson.Follow --ABCNewsRadio !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Taylor Swift Named "People" Magazine's Best Dressed of 2014

Bret Hartman/CBSTaylor Swift not only kills it on the red carpet, she kills it every time she steps outside her New York City apartment. That's why the always-pulled-together singer has been named People magazine's Best Dressed for 2014.As People notes, the singer has "truly hit her style stride in the past 12 months," sporting amazing designer gowns at industry events, and chic casual ensembles on the street.  She even looks great coming from the gym.  Her BFF, supermodel Karli Kloss, tells the magazine, "She's got great style. I need to take some notes from her!"Taylor herself tells People, "I’m more willing to take a risk this year than ever before,” and describes her style as “feminine, leggy and ever-changing.” As far as other musical performers go, People magazine also singles out Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez on its Best-Dressed top-10 list, which is unranked.  The mag calls Rihanna "the biggest risk-taker," offering as evidence the see-through gown she wore to accept her Fashion Icon award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America.  Speaking about his client's fashion choices, Rihanna's stylist tells the magazine, "Being sexy is totally a part of it. It’s also about having fun, though, and just experimenting with fashion."As for that ageless beauty J-Lo, the magazine says, "[She] has yet to meet a skin-baring trend she doesn't like … or can't pull off."  Her stylists tell the magazine, "She looks phenomenal in everything, so we get to have more fun playing with her looks rather than analyzing what needs to be avoided."People mag also inducts some Best Dressed Couples into its Style Hall of Fame, and Adam Levine and his supermodel wife Behati Prinsloo are among them, as are John Legend and his supermodel wife, Chrissy Teigen.  Voice coach and country star Blake Shelton and his wife, fellow country star Miranda Lambert, also made the cut.Follow --ABCNewsRadio !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Image Courtesy Capitol RecordsNeil Diamond is giving fans a glimpse into his forthcoming release, Melody Road, due October 21, with the release of a video for a new song, "Nothing but a Heartache."Seated on a stool and strumming an acoustic guitar, Neil wraps his raspy vocals around a beautiful melody that begins softly then builds with a dramatic, orchestral crescendo.Diamond sings, "It was nothing but a heartache/in the middle of a bad dream/like I took on the whole world/ and I never had a chance girl."The song is trademark Diamond, with a hook that stays with a listener long after the final fade.  The video is streaming now on RollingStone.com.As previously reported, the 12-track collection, which was co-produced by Don Was and Jacknife Lee, also is the acclaimed singer/songwriter's first release as part of his new deal with Capitol Records, and will be packaged with a 36-page book that includes the lyrics and chords to each tune.Follow @ABCNewsRadio !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Jason Mraz Kicks Off Historic Tour of All of NYC's Five Boroughs Tonight

Courtesy Atlantic RecordsStarting tonight, Jason Mraz takes Manhattan -- and every other part of New York, too.  While some artists do residencies in Las Vegas, or at one venue, like the O2 in London, Jason is doing a residency of New York City as a whole, with a concert this month in each of New York City's five boroughs.Dubbed the Five Boroughs Tour, Jason and his tour partners, the all-female band Raining Jane, will perform shows in each of New York’s five boroughs -- Manhattan, Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx -- beginning September 17 in Brooklyn and wrapping up the 22nd and 23rd at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan. Asked if he's looking forward to playing any particular section of New York more than another, Jason tells ABC News Radio, "You know, I'm excited to be back in Radio City Music Hall -- don't get me wrong; I do love that. But I'm also just genuinely excited about what each of the boroughs is gonna bring. Because I don't know. I don't know what to expect."What fans can expect, though, is a different set list in each location. "Definitely! We're going to mix it up every night, and I get to do that thanks to my amazing support band, Raining Jane," Jason says.  He and the Janes, as they're called, have been touring together since late August; they also joined him on his current album, YES!Jason says that one of the goals in doing the tour is to encourage New Yorkers to actually journey from wherever they happen to live to other parts of the city to see him play.  This isn't always as easy as it sounds: people who live in Manhattan, for example, often complain about having to go to Brooklyn.  But Jason says, fingers crossed, his music will be enough to tempt folks to travel."I'm hoping that we're not just playing for people in those boroughs, but that it gives New Yorkers a chance to commute and go check out some of the other boroughs and some of the other neighborhoods that they may not have seen yet," he says.  After he wraps up the New York shows, Jason will head overseas for some shows in the U.K. and Europe, before coming back to North America in early October for more dates.Follow --ABCNewsRadio !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Which #1 Hit from 1989 Inspired a Song on Taylor Swift's New Album, "1989"?

Big Machine RecordsTaylor Swift has already said her upcoming album is titled 1989 not only because that's her birth year, but also because she was inspired by a lot of "late '80s" music while making it.  Now one of those "late-'80s" songs has been revealed: "She Drives Me Crazy" by Fine Young Cannibals.Taylor's friend, Jack Antonoff of the band fun., worked on 1989, and tells Rolling Stone he and Taylor bonded over the snare drum sound in "She Drives Me Crazy," which hit #1 in 1989.  "Taylor brought it up first, and I was like, 'Holy s**t, you're not going to believe this: I just sampled that snare in a track,'" Jack tells Rolling Stone. "I played her one second of it on my iPhone, and she was like, ‘Send me that track.' That became a song called ‘I Wish You Would.'" "I really think 'She Drives Me Crazy' could be on the radio now," says Taylor of the hit by the British pop group. "It's that timeless."In general, though, Taylor says she was inspired by '80s music because, she tells Rolling Stone, "It was a very experimental time in pop music. People realized songs didn't have to be this standard drums-guitar-bass-whatever... And I think what you saw happening with music was also happening in our culture, where people were just wearing whatever crazy colors they wanted to, because why not?""There just seemed to be this energy about endless opportunities, endless possibilities, endless ways you could live your life," she adds. "And so with this record, I thought, 'There are no rules to this. I don't need to use the same musicians I've used, or the same band, or the same producers, or the same formula. I can make whatever record I want.'"Follow --ABCNewsRadio !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio
