Sticky Notes On Window Help Student Get Internship

A college student landed a prestigious technology internship by using sticky notes to spell out “HIRE ME” on his dormitory window — which is located across the street from Fortune 500 firm NCR. Gursimran Singh, 19, had his eye on his nearby dream job for some time, as the second-year computer science student could view many of their offices from his Atlanta window. “I was not at all expecting any response from them,” said Singh, who was so blown away that he had to enlist his friends to display his email address in a final Post-It message, which blotted out the entire window. “I spent a lot on sticky notes, but it looked pretty cool,” said Singh. He was emailed by NCR recruiters, including the vice president of information technology. After sending them his résumé, he secured an interview for the summer internship. Singh plans to use the experience as a steppingstone to a career as a biomedical robotics engineer.
