Music notes: Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and more
Taylor Swift honored the 10th anniversary of her fifth studio album, 1989, during the surprise song section of Sunday night’s performance of The Eras Tour in New Orleans, Louisiana. For her piano mash-up, Taylor performed a blend of two songs from 1989: “How You Get the Girl” and “Clean.” She addressed the anniversary as she sat down at the piano to begin the song. “Today is a fantastic day, because today … I feel like you already know what I’m going to say, which makes it so precious and wonderful. 1989 is 10 years old today. That’s pretty special. A decade of the 1989 album.”
Live vocals of Ariana Grande singing in the upcoming Wicked film can be heard on a new featurette of the movie that was released Monday. In the clip, which is centered on how the cast sang live while filming, Ariana sings “Defying Gravity” with her co-star, Cynthia Erivo.
