Phillip Phillips May Eat Birthday Cake and More Onstage at Saturday's "Food Netw

Credit: Nick WalkerPhillip Phillips celebrates his 24th birthday on Saturday, and he'll be spending it engaging in his two favorite activities: playing music and eating.Phillip is one of the headliners at the first-ever Food Network-branded music festival, taking place September 20 outside of Chicago, Illinois.  Not only will Phillip be playing, as well as his former tourmate John Mayer, but the charity event will feature cooking demonstrations and food tastings from some of the Food Network's biggest stars, as well as top chefs from around the country. "I'm so excited," Phillip tells ABC News Radio.  "I'm going to eat a lot of food."  In fact, he says he may not even wait until his set is over to chow down.   "I'm probably gonna walk off stage during the middle of the set and just go eat something," he jokes. "Or I'll just ask them to bring me some food up -- while the band's jamming, I'll just kinda sit down for a minute and just eat a little meal or cake."Phillip is seriously into food -- he says he even tries to prepare his own food when he's on tour."Sometimes, yeah, we'll try to cook every once in a while," he tells ABC News Radio. "It's hard to in the fall, because...it's cold outside. But in the summertime, we try to do it once every couple of weeks, maybe twice. We have a tiny little grill we'll take out. It's tough but we try to. When I go home I like to cook a little bit."And when he's not cooking, he's watching shows about cooking. The singer, who recently launched a new fall tour in support of his latest album Behind the Light, is also a bona fide Food Network addict."I love Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," he says of the show that features Guy Fieri traveling around to hole-in-the-wall places and eating greasy delights. "I travel so much... I have the app on my phone and I always try to hit up those restaurants.""So yeah, " he says. "I can watch eight or ten hours of that in a row!"  Phillip wraps up his tour December 7 in Phoenix, AZ.Follow --ABCNewsRadio !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Kelly Clarkson Shares Lyrics of Song from Upcoming Album

Monty Brinton/CBSKelly Clarkson may be enjoying her time as a new mom to daughter River Rose, but she hasn't forgotten about her music career.  She's working on a new album and shared some of its lyrics Friday on Twitter.Kelly tweeted, "The high road can be a lonely place but I'd rather talk to my shadow than a mirage."  When fans immediately began speculating about what she was talking about -- or wondering if everything was all right with her -- she followed it up by writing, "Okay haha my last tweet was referring 2 a song that's going on my next album.  Things r great n my world!  The song is about the high road :)."No word yet on when we can expect the new album.  Her last release was the holiday album Wrapped in Red, which came out last year.  Her last album of original non-holiday material was Stronger, which was released in 2011.Follow --ABCNewsRadio !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Michael Jackson Duet with Late Queen Vocalist Freddie Mercury to Be Released in

Hollywood RecordsIn 1981, The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, and Queen frontman Freddie Mercury came together in the studio for a once-in-a-lifetime duet that inexplicably never saw the light of day.  That's about to change, however: the duet will be included on the British rock legends' new compilation, Queen Forever, on Nov. 10.The song, titled "There Must Be More to Life than This," was originally recorded for the Queen album Hot Space, but the backing track was never completed.  Enter producer William Orbit, who's probably best known for his work on Madonna's Ray of Light album.  He was tasked with completing the job, an assignment he said was like opening a "a trove of delights provided by the greatest of musicians."In a statement released by the band, Orbit says, "Hearing Michael Jackson's vocals was stirring. So vivid, so cool, and poignant, it was like he was in the studio singing live. With Freddie's vocal solo on the mixing desk, my appreciation for his gift was taken to an even higher level."Freddie Mercury eventually released a more stripped down-version of "There Must Be More to Life than This" on his 1985 solo album, but Orbit went in the opposite direction for this version of the song with Michael, adding full instrumentation to give the song more kick.In addition to singing together, Michael and Freddie Mercury were pals. In fact, it was reportedly Michael who suggested to Freddie backstage at an L.A. concert that Queen should release their song "Another One Bites the Dust" as a single.  It went on to become one of their biggest hits."There Must Be More to Life than This" is just one of the many tunes featured on Queen Forever, which will be available as a 20-track single CD and as an extended 36-track, two-CD set.The song will be the second posthumous duet released in 2014 to feature Michael Jackson; the other one was "Love Never Felt So Good," a duet with Justin Timberlake.Follow --ABCNewsRadio !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Lady Gaga's New Perfume Is a Real Knockout

Inez & VinoodhWhat does Lady Gaga's new unisex fragrance, Eau de Gaga, smell like?  Judging from its newly-released trailer, it's like writhing around on a pile of naked men, and then getting punched in the face.In the one-minute black-and-white trailer directed by Steven Klein, Gaga -- wearing a barely-there satin dress, long flowing blonde hair and long, sharp, pointy fingernails -- rolls around on a pile of artfully arranged naked guys, stroking herself suggestively and pouting sexily. Those erotic images are interspersed, bizarrely, with shots of a boxer punching directly into the camera, accompanied by "pow" sound effects.  The whole thing is soundtracked to "I Can't Give You Anything but Love," one of the jazz duets Gaga and Tony Bennett have recorded for their upcoming album, Cheek to Cheek.Eau de Gaga is described as a "daring" new fragrance that "represents the future of a scent that appeals to both men and women, where nothing is off limits." Gaga tweeted, "We worked 2 years on this fragrance. 13 NATURAL ingredients and unisex!"Follow --ABCNewsRadio!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Stevie Nicks to Mount Show of Selfies...from the Seventies?

Credit: Stevie Nicks (Courtesy of Artist's Personal Collection)You probably think of selfies as a modern phenomenon, but it turns out Stevie Nicks has been taking them for years.  Now, the singer is mounting an exhibition of her self-portraits, which she snapped with a Polaroid camera from 1975 to 1987.According to the New York Times, the show, called 24 Karat Gold -- which is also the name of the singer's new album -- is being curated by Eurythmics guitarist Dave Stewart, who produced her last solo record, In Your Dreams.  Nicks took the photos late at night, while at home and on tour because, as she tells the Times via her publicist, "I wanted to learn how to become a photographer.""I don't sleep at night, so I thought, 'Who am I going to ask to stay up all night [and take pictures of me], and then do a show tomorrow? So I'm not going to get Christine,'" she says, referring to her Fleetwood Mac band mate Christine McVie.   So Nicks took the photos herself, using a variety of props and costumes.  "I did everything," she tells the Times.  "I was the stylist, the makeup artist, the furniture mover, the lighting director -- it was my joy.  I was the model."Eventually, Nicks stopped taking the photos because, she says, "Polaroids were just almost impossible to use ... there was no more film and they all broke down."  The photos in the exhibit have never been seen before -- in fact, Nicks says she's kept them in shoeboxes all these years.  Many will also be featured in a book that's being released along with the deluxe version of her album.24 Karat Gold will open October 10 at a Manhattan art space called 201 Mulberry Street.  Two days later, the show will move about a half mile across town to the Morrison Hotel Gallery, which specializes in music photography, where it'll be on display for the rest of October.Nicks' album 24 Karat Gold -- Songs from the Vault will be in stores October 7.  Her tour with Fleetwood Mac begins September 30 in Minneapolis.Follow --ABCNewsRadio !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation 1814" Turns 25 Today

The Spencer Company/A&M Records/UniversalJanet Jackson's landmark album Rhythm Nation 1814 officially turns 25 years old today, September 19.  To commemorate the anniversary, Jackson's songwriting and production team James "Jimmy Jam" Harris III and Terry Lewis recalls the recording process of the critically-acclaimed project. In an interview with Billboard, Jimmy Jam reveals how the political elements all throughout the album emerged as they watched CNN while recording in the studio."We felt like we had … not a responsibility to say something, but growing up in the '60s, whether it was the Vietnam War or whatever, it seemed like there was always someone commenting on it," Jam says.  "And that was a good thing.  Why not use the powers we have as songwriters to bring some of those messages across?  Rap music was doing it in a very strong way."The superproducer also revealed that the disc was recorded during the winter in Minneapolis, adding that Janet was in a good place emotionally.  "She was in a very creatively fruitful place.  She had just discovered her writing chops," Jam says before describing her as "hungry" and "excited."To this day, the album is still the only one in history to spawn seven Top 10 singles, including "Rhythm Nation," "Miss You Much," "Escapade," "Alright," "Come Back to Me," "Black Cat" and "Love Will Never Do (Without You)."  It's sold 14 million copies.Follow @ABCNewsRadio !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Aloe Blacc Talks Movie Plans, Possible Bruno Mars Collaboration
