Adam Levine Says Chris Hemsworth Deserves "People's" Sexiest Man Alive Title

Courtesy People MagazineAfter a year of flaunting the fact that he landed the title of People's Sexiest Man Alive, Adam Levine was forced to relinquish it earlier this month for this year's hottie: Chris Hemsworth, star of The Avengers and the Thor movies.  But the Maroon 5 frontman says there's no hard feelings between himself and the Australian actor.Speaking to Access Hollywood Live, Adam says of Hemsworth, "Listen he's a super, super good looking [guy]. He's a handsome dude. He's Thor, for Christ's sake! I mean, the dude deserves it. Gosh!"Asked if he believes Hemsworth is sexier than Adam, fellow Voice coach Blake Shelton told the TV show, "I don’t even know who the other dude is. I have absolutely zero clue who the new guy is… But I guarantee you he's more manly and better looking and probably a better human being all together."Adam of course, had to fire back at Blake, mocking him for never appearing on the cover of People's annual Sexiest Men issue."You guys, see, Blake made the inside of the magazine," he explained. Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett Unwrap New Holiday Ad for H&M

Courtesy H&MLady Gaga and Tony Bennett have unveiled their new commercial for H&M's new holiday campaign.  Called "Magical Holidays," the one-minute, 40-second spot features Gaga and Bennett as just one element of a special holiday party. The clip starts with a woman, back to the camera, carrying a gift-wrapped box down a hall. Then we see a couple making out in the back of a bus, which opens up to reveal a band on a ship, with a female captain giving gifts to a family.  We travel through the porthole in the ship, and we're in a log cabin, where a bunch of young people are partying in front of a roaring fire.  One woman climbs a staircase to the attic, and pops out of a gold box, dressed in a glamorous outfit, into a ballroom where elegantly attired people are dancing in front of a stage. Finally, 40 seconds into the ad, we see Gaga and Tony onstage. She's wearing a huge curly wig and a dark green dress; he's wearing a tux.  They dance for a bit, and then sing "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)," one of the standards from their jazz album Cheek to Cheek.  As they finish the number, the camera pulls out to reveal that the whole scene has taken place inside the box that the woman in the first scene was carrying down the hall. The woman, now revealed to be Gaga in heavy eye makeup and a white fur hat, replaces the lid and walks out of the room and back down the hall.Follow --ABCNewsRadio!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Kelly Clarkson Debuts New Holiday Video for "Wrapped in Red"

RCA Records"Wrapped in Red" was the title cut of Kelly Clarkson's 2013 holiday album, but she's finally gotten around to shooting a video for it.  The clip is now available for viewing exclusively on Amazon. The video incorporates old home movies of kids playing in the snow, unwrapping presents and decorating trees, with snowy winter scenes, and shots of Kelly singing in a few different settings: in a studio lit by light bulbs, against a red background with Christmas decorations and against a hazy white background.Earlier this year, Kelly posted a photo of her baby daughter River Rose visiting her on the set of the video shoot. She captioned it with the hashtag "#babysfirstvideo."You can buy Wrapped in Red in a variety of formats at Amazon, but over at Walmart, you can purchase a special CD/DVD bundle that includes both the album and a copy of Kelly's 2013 NBC Christmas special Kelly's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale.Follow --ABCNewsRadio!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Joni Mitchell Put the Kibosh on Film that Would Have Starred Taylor Swift as Her

ABC/Ida Mae AstuteA couple of years ago, there was talk of a movie version of the book Girls Like Us, which focused on the impact of female musicians Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon and Carole King.  There was also word that Taylor Swift had been cast as Mitchell in the film, but it was never made.  Now Mitchell is claiming it was she who pulled the plug on the project.Speaking to the Sunday Times of London, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer says, “I squelched that! I said to the producer, ‘All you’ve got is a girl with high cheekbones. It’s just a lot of gossip, you don’t have the great scenes.’"  She also said that she didn't agree with the source material, which was written by Sheila Weller.  "There’s a lot of nonsense about me in books: assumptions, assumptions, assumptions,” Mitchell tells The Times. In October of 2012, Taylor said she was eager to portray Mitchell, telling Rolling Stone, ""I wish I could say it's confirmed! But the thing about movies that I've learned is -- I've been reading scripts for five years, and you just don't know what ones are going to get greenlit and which ones aren't, so I can't talk about it unless it's the real thing."Girls Like Us would've been Taylor's first dramatic role, after making her acting debut in the 2010 romantic comedy Valentine's Day.  She finally got that dramatic role this year, when she appeared in the movie The Giver.Follow --ABCNewsRadio!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

This Year, Meghan Trainor's Thankful for Her "Dream"-Like Life

Epic RecordsHeading into Thanksgiving, Meghan Trainor certainly has a lot to be thankful for this holiday season.  Not only did she score one of the biggest hits of 2014 with "All About That Bass," but her new album is coming out in January, followed by a headlining tour, and a Grammy nomination may not be out of the question.  No wonder she describes her life as "a dream."Asked what she'll be most thankful for this year, Meghan tells ABC News Radio, simply, "Life.  My songs, and all this happening.  This is incredible."  She adds, "Everything is a dream. It's like a movie."In fact, Meghan says she's eager for all the cool stuff she's getting to do -- like presenting on Sunday night's American Music Awards -- to be documented for posterity. "My brother was saying he should maybe just tape a GoPro to his head for wherever we go," she laughs. OneRepublic Offers New Charity Remix, Chance to Win a VIP Tour Experience

Courtesy Coca-ColaOneRepublic has teamed up with Bono's (RED) charity campaign and Coca-Cola to offer a remix of their new single "I Lived" that will raise money for a good cause, and you can join in and win some great prizes.Proceeds from downloads of the "I Lived" remix will go to the (RED) Global Fund, specifically to its latest campaign, called Share the Sound of an AIDS-Free Generation, which is working to fight mother-to-child transmission of HIV.  In connection with that, the band is also offering fans the chance to spend a day with them and live like a VIP.If you visit Omaze.com, you can donate money for chances to win the grand prize: you and a guest will fly to join the band at the tour stop of your choice.  You'll get a VIP backstage tour, go to the soundcheck and hang out with the guys and then watch the show from VIP seats."We're proud to be part of the (RED) campaign this year and are looking forward to spending time with a winning fan" said OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder.Depending on how much you donate, you can also receive cool merchandise, like OneRepublic t-shirts, hoodies, autographed albums, guitars and more.Ryan, who's friendly with Bono, tells People magazine that teaming with the U2 singer's (RED) charity was a no-brainer, adding, "It made sense. The nature of our song 'I Lived' lined up with the whole theme of their campaign."   The song itself, says Ryan, was written about his four-year-old son, Copeland."He knows the song is about him. He loves it. He loves this song," says Ryan. "He's always into whatever is the most recent song that we've done. So right now, he walks around singing 'Love Runs Out' cause that was our last single. Ariana Grande "Silly Beyond Belief," According to Bette Midler

ABC/Kelsey McNeal; Warner Bros. RecordsAriana Grande's sexy dance moves go over well with her fans, but music legend Bette Midler is calling out Grande and other young pop stars for using their sex appeal to sell albums. In an interview with the British newspaper The Telegraph Midler, 68, bemoaned the state of today's female artists while discussing her latest album, It’s the Girls, a compilation of covers of the girl bands of her youth. She calls what's happening today "terrible.""It’s always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch looking so ridiculous," she explains, adding, "I mean, it’s silly beyond belief and I don’t know who’s telling her to do it."Midler stresses that she doesn't think it's Ariana's fault. She believes the "Problem" singer's managers are at the bottom of it."I wish they’d stop. But it’s not my business, I’m not her mother. Or her manager," Bette says. "Maybe they tell them that’s what you’ve got to do. Sex sells. Sex has always sold."Midler thinks artists have the freedom to do whatever they want these days, but that's not always a good thing.  "Whatever strictures there were have fallen apart," she tells the newspaper. "And now it’s whatever you feel like doing you can do. I mean, apparently people really like to pretend they’re having sex. They really like to slap each other’s butts."Midler acknowledges that she could be the one who's out of touch, but adds, "I don’t know what the end game is going to be. I don’t know where you go from all that sex in your twenties. I don’t know how you sustain it."Midler's advice for a young woman who wants to get into show business today: "Trust your talent," she advises. "You don’t have to make a whore out of yourself to get ahead. You really don’t."It’s the Girls features The Divine Miss M tackling songs made famous by The Shirelles, The Ronettes, The Chiffons, The Supremes, Martha & the Vandellas and others.  The album also includes a cover of TLC’s “Waterfalls.”Follow @ABCNewsRadio !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

American Authors Will Skip Traditional Eating Contest This Thanksgiving

Andrew Zaeh/IslandAmerican Authors will have a couple days off this Thanksgiving to reflect on their successful year, which has been fueled by their hit "Best Day of My Life."  But unlike past years, the New York-based band says they won't be indulging in one of their usual Thanksgiving traditions: competitive eating at a local buffet restaurant."This will be the first Thanksgiving I think we're not actually going to be together," guitarist James Shelley tells ABC News Radio. "For every other Thanksgiving for, like, the last seven years, we go to Old Country Buffet -- OCB -- and we have an eating contest. And there's no prize, except your stomach hurts for four days."So who usually wins this so-called eating contest?  "Usually our crew," laughs drummer Matt Sanchez.  "Though in the end, no one wins."  "But it's a true American Thanksgiving," notes James. "On one plate you can have pizza, tacos, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, Jell-O and a piece of cake."  "And turkey!" adds singer Zac Barnett.Zac gets serious, though, when he considers what the band will be thankful for this Thursday."I guess thankful for such an amazing past two years," he tells ABC News Radio. "We've pretty much been on the road nonstop. We've never had any time to really sit back and reflect on it all. So while we're not taking that much time off, it'll going to be really nice to look at it all and just think back on all the touring. 'Cause I know even now when we're talking about it, it'll be like, 'What show was that? Where was that? Who was there?' So it's always really cool to think back on the amazing events and things we've done since it all began."  American Authors have been in Germany this week, but they're flying back to the U.S. to do a series of Christmas shows starting November 30. Those shows will take them all the way through the end of December.Follow @ABCNewsRadio !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

"The Voice" Recap: New Mentors Advise the Top 10

Trae Patton/NBCThe top 10 artists on NBC's The Voice were back in the spotlight Monday night, again performing for viewers' votes.Helping the contestants in rehearsals were four new mentors. Fall Out Boy singer and Sing-Off judge Patrick Stump assisted Adam Levine's team; on-again, off-again Voice coach Christina Aguilera tutored Gwen Stefani's team; Colbie Caillat dispensed advice to Blake Shelton's crew; and Motown legend Diana Ross teamed up with Pharrell Williams' artists. The two-hour broadcast began with the top 10 singing a medley of Rascal Flatts songs. The Voice later featured footage of the artists meeting with legendary record executive Clive Davis, who was also in attendance for the live show.Matt McAndrew of Team Adam delivered the first individual performance of the night: a rendition of the Coldplay hit "Fix You." Patrick urged him to show more confidence during the lyric, "Tears stream down your face."   Following Matt's performance on The Voice stage, Blake said Matt has the drama, range, and stage presence. Gwen said Matt's last note was unlike anything she'd heard from him before. Adam said his artist did Coldplay proud. The first member of Team Gwen to enter the spotlight was Anita Antoinette. Christina immediately remembered her from her brief appearance during season three. Anita put her reggae spin on the Passenger single "Let Her Go."Pharrell marveled at Anita's resiliency after she was rejected on the show several seasons ago. Gwen said Anita took over the song, adding that it sounded like something Anita would record.Team Adam's Damien performed "You and I (We Can Conquer the World)" by Stevie Wonder. Patrick warned him in rehearsals not to constrict his air flow while singing. After Damien received a long applause from the studio audience for his live performance, Pharrell said the artist's family members in attendance must be so proud of him. Adam said he felt the entire crowd "get on board" with Damien.Team Blake teen Reagan James sang a more poppy version of the Iggy Azalea rap hit "Fancy." Colbie suggested to Reagan in rehearsals that she stop at one point in the song and make contact with the studio audience. In critiquing Reagan's live performance, both Adam and Blake gave her credit for taking on such a complicated song. Blake called it Reagan's best showing to date.Team Pharrell's Luke Wade covered the Otis Redding song "Try A Little Tenderness." Diana recalled her experiences with Otis, and said Luke's performance needs to come from his soul and his heart.Adam said Luke bounced back after a rough outing last week. Pharrell simply said it was a job well done by Luke.Craig Wayne Boyd of Team Blake played the Johnny Cash classic "I Walk the Line" on an acoustic guitar.Pharrell said there's no artist like Boyd in the competition. Adam declared that it was obvious Boyd has become "crazy, crazy good." Blake described Boyd's performance as "magic."Gwen assigned Ryan Sill the Muse song "Starlight."Adam said Ryan has been going through the process of what he wants to be as an artist. Pharrell added that it's been interesting to watch Ryan's journey on the show. Gwen called Ryan's performance beautiful.Team Pharrell's DaNica Shirey belted out Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.” Diana advised her in rehearsals to visualize singing it to the house band's music.Gwen said DaNica never messes up. Blake proclaimed this was the best live Voice show he's ever seen. Pharrell said his "mind is blown" to think of how far DaNica has come.Team Gwen's Taylor John Williams sang The Beatles classic "Come Together." Christina told the cameras that Williams has to "own" the song on stage.Blake observed how much fun Williams had during his live performance. Pharrell said it was one of the "craziest" performances the coaches have seen this season. Gwen admitted she was worried about the song choice, but thought it worked out. She said if she was 15 and in high school she'd have a crush on Williams.Chris Jamison of Team Adam closed out the show with "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars. Patrick told Chris he should slur some of the words to give them a bit of an edge.Gwen said Chris commanded the stage. Adam said he usually has artists on his team who are not afraid to try something different. Two artists will be eliminated on Tuesday night's results show, which airs on NBC at 8 p.m. Eastern time.Follow @ABCNewsRadio!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Robin Thicke, U2 Among GQ's "Least Influential People" of 2014

Credit: Harper SmithU2 is one of the biggest bands in the world, and last year, Robin Thicke had one of the biggest songs of the year, with "Blurred Lines."  This year, GQ magazine has named both artists to its list of the "30 Least Influential People of 2014.In fact, U2 and frontman Bono tops GQ's list, because they "collaborated with Apple to strong-arm their new album [Songs of Innocence] into your iTunes library without your consent."  The magazine adds, "The worst part was the way both Apple and U2 treated this, like it was some kind of noble gift to The People; in fact this was a $100 million marketing campaign."As for Robin, he's on the list because he "reportedly cheated on his wife. Wrote an album named after her to get her back. Literally titled the first single 'Get Her Back.' Sold just 530 copies of the (sh***y) album in the U.K. in its first week. Still getting divorced."Adds the magazine, "The rest of this cheeseball's career is our collective punishment for making 'Blurred Lines' popular. Frank Ockenfels IIIThe idea was floated earlier this month, but now it's a reality: Sting will join the cast of his Broadway musical The Last Ship, in an effort to help boost ticket sales. The New York Times reports Sting will take on the role of Jackie White, the foreman of a British shipyard, in the musical, which means he'll be in "about 40%" of the show.  His run starts December 9, and he'll do eight shows a week through January 10.  Despite decent reviews, The New York Times reports that the show has been losing $75,000 per week since it opened September 29.Sting told the newspaper because he's been working on the show for so long, he "knows all the lines and lyrics after all these years," so it's not as though he's unprepared.  He also told the Times he'd bare his butt "in Macy's, if it will help our show."Jeffrey Seller, lead producer of The Last Ship, tells The New York Times the show needs "a boost...some ammo."  He says he asked Sting to join the cast, with an eye towards keeping momentum going long enough so that the show can win a Tony award in June.Sting can't remain in the show indefinitely, however: he's scheduled to resume his tour with Paul Simon January 30 in New Zealand.A week ago at a red carpet event, when asked if he'd be appearing in The Last Ship, Sting said, "Don't think I need to be at the moment."  Obviously, that has changed.  He also told reporters, regarding the show's good reviews versus its lagging ticket sales, "We fight a battle every night and we win that battle hands down in the theater, and that word of mouth is great.  But it's a challenge, y'know.  It's not an easy world, Broadway, it's tough. But I'm having the time of my life, I'll tell ya!"Follow --ABCNewsRadio!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio
